Youth on Target 4-H Club competes in tournament

The District 5 Hunter Education tournament is hosted by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission as an opportunity to showcase outdoor skils and demonstrate safety, the district tournaments test teams and individuals in rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader and archery markmanship, as well as an orienteering challenge and wildlife knowledge and hunter safety skills. The 2010 district tournament had over 200 teams and 1500 competitors. This year's tournament was held at the Alamance Wildlife Club on Saturday, March 27th and had 25 teams competing for the right to attend the state tournament in April. This was the second year that the Person County 4-H Shooting Program participated and they ended up taking 8 youth representing 5 different schools within Person County.
